Located in the mid-beach section of Miami Beach, The Confidante Miami hotel has a family-friendly oceanfront location with lots of amenities. Although Confidant by Hyatt is part of a large corporate chain, the hotel feels like an independent boutique establishment. Confidante Hyatt Miami has all of the comforts of a Hyatt layered with the elegance of a historic Art Deco building. This Confidante Miami review tells you what to expect from the location, the hotel rooms and the amenities.

The Confidante Hotel
The Confidante Hotel is an Art Deco hotel furnished in a mid-century modern style. As you enter the lobby you are greeted by an enormous Art Deco chandelier and golden flamingo statues providing a line for front desk queries. The modern decor is further enhanced by works of art by contemporary artists.
A part of Hyatt reservations, Confidante Miami Hotel is a member of its Unbound Collection, a collection of boutique-style hotels similar to the Curio Collection by Hilton. The chic decor was done by Martin Brudnizki who also designed Soho House Miami nearby.
Confidant Miami FL Location
Nestled between Collins Avenue and the Miami Beach Boardwalk, the deco building that is the Confidante Hyatt Miami sits on prime real estate in Mid-Beach. The hotel enjoys sweeping views over the Atlantic and the beach.
The Confidant Miami FL location is also excellent for entering and exiting Miami Beach. A barrier beach island, traffic (and parking) can be difficult on Collins Avenue. Valet parking at the Confidante also takes care of your car once you reach the hotel.
The Confidante Miami Beach Hotel though is located right near the W 41st street bridge that crosses into the city of Miami proper over the I-195. At this hotel, you get easy access to both the beautiful beaches of Miami as well as the hip art districts, Wynwood and the Miami Arts District. The I-195 also connects with the I-95 for access to downtown Miami and points north and south, including Miami International Airport.
You can either call an Uber or walk down Collins Avenue to the heart of South Beach easily. The bustle of Miami is right there nearby.
We have stayed at other Miami Beach hotels, such as The Betsy Hotel in South Beach and the Freehand Hotel in Mid-Beach. We preferred the location of the Confidante by Hyatt Miami.
Miami Beach Boardwalk
The ultra-popular Miami Boardwalk stretches from the very tip of South Beach north for 40 blocks. This paved walkway is renowned for beautiful people strutting between the beach and the ritzy hotels that line the boardwalk.
The southern half of the boardwalk is also bike-friendly and scores of people enjoy the sunshine on rollerblades, skateboards, and scooters.
Confidant Hyatt Miami Hotel Rooms
The Confidante Hotel has unbeatable ocean views from the rooms facing the Atlantic Ocean. The other side of the hotel has city views which also are pretty cool.
The geometric carpeting, mid-century furnishings, and crisp white linens of the hotel room combines the best of retro chic and modern comforts. The premier suites have spectacular private terraces with sun loungers.
Rooms can have a wide variety in size from the smaller 100 square feet to being close to 700 square feet. It’s particularly noticeable in the single bed rooms because the king size bed can dominate the whole of as mall room.
Some of the larger rooms have comfortable seating areas too. All of the rooms have a workdesk, a retro bar cart and a flat-screen TV. The closets have large laptop-compatible safes.
For example, we had two rooms near each other both facing the Atlantic Ocean. While the teenagers had a smaller room, we had a larger room with a seating area. The price for both rooms was the same despite the difference in size.
The bathrooms are spacious with a single vanity, rainfall shower heads and designer toiletries from Jonathan Adler.
Confidante Hyatt Miami Outdoor Areas
The Confidante Hyatt Miami charges a daily resort fee in addition to room rates for the use of its assorted amenities.
You can also get day passes to the Confidante Hotel amenities such as the pool and beach through Resort Pass if you are staying elsewhere.
The Confidante Miami Pool
Confidante Hotel Miami Beach has two separate heated outdoor pools, one designated as a family pool and the other as an adults-only pool.
The adults only pool has a selection of pool-side cabanas as well as loungers. Although you need to rent the colorful cabana separately, there seem to be plenty available. The family-pool has loungers only but the pool chairs are plentiful in supply.
A nearby poolside bar is open to serve light food options and drinks. Sadly, our use of the outdoor facilities, and poolside service, was limited thanks to unseasonably cold and rainy weather in Miami.
The Confidante Miami Beach
The Confidante beach lies directly across from the pool area of the Confidante Hotel. You will need to cross a strip of the Miami Beach Boardwalk to access the beach.
The Confidant Miami beach area comes complete with retro beach chairs and a personal attendant to provide tailored service. The sand is soft and powdery and stretches as far as the eye can see.
The beach is glorious and feels way more peaceful than the hustle of South Beach which is only a couple of miles away.
Confidante Miami Hotel Restaurants
The Confidante Miami Hotel restaurants include the hotel’s main restaurant as well as cafes and bars.
The Ambersweet
The Ambersweet is the main one of the Confidante Miami hotel restaurants. Every morning, the Ambersweet serves a full buffet breakfast.
The rest of the day, the hotel’s main restaurant serves fresh locally sourced ingredients to showcase the Caribbean and American mix that is quintessentially “Miami”. For example, they serve such Cuban favourites as empanadas. Or, just go for a cheeseburger like my kids did!!
The Lounge
The Lounge serves up specialty cocktails with a modern twist. There’s an Art Deco flourish everywhere from the cool chandeliers to the curves of the bar area.
Despite the architectural flourish, they do cater to modern needs, e.g., broadcasting sports games on television screens.
The Backyard
The Backyard is the perfect venue to enjoy Miami’s year-round temperate weather.
For pool or beachside cuisine this venue provides casual cuisine in the afternoon and evening. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, The Backyard features live music, the ideal backdrop to a relaxing evening outdoors.
The Backyard has direct access to the pool area.
The AM Cafe
The AM Cafe offers specially crafted coffee beverages featuring locally roasted beans. You can get fresh pastries, yogurt parfaits, and bagels to either eat in the Lounge or take up to your room.
Grab a flaky Guava Pastelito for a taste of a Miami classic. My kids highly rated the avocado toast.
Confidante Miami Hotel Amenities
The Confidante Hyatt Miami has several amenities some of which go beyond the standard.
As you would expect, guests can enjoy complimentary wireless internet access across the property. The free wi-fi is excellent even by the pool and beach area.
The state-of-the-art gym will also allow guests to keep up their fitness routine. The hotel also offers virtual fitness classes at the indoor and outdoor fitness center where guests can enjoy kickboxing, bilingual yoga, circuit training, and dance-inspired fitness with unbeatable ocean views.
Rent a bicycle from the hotel to explore the area especially on the Miami Beach Boardwalk which runs right behind the hotel. The Confidante Miami bikes are much cuter than the standard city rental bikes.
Confidante Miami Beach Hotel is a pet-friendly hotel. We saw quite a few pampered pooches in the common area.
In an unexpected twist, Confidante Hotel Miami Beach also hosts artwork from street artists in its public areas. It’s an offshoot of the Museum of Graffiti in the Wynwood district, and called the Museum of Graffiti Beachside.
